On tour and on the road
Secure your motorbike while on tour
As soon as it is time to park your bike during a tour, whether for a short breather or a longer stop, you should make sure that it is optimally secured.
This not only ensures your own security, but also protects your vehicle from unauthorised access or theft. A high-quality lock creates the best possible basis for making it considerably more difficult for criminals to achieve their goals.
By following the tips below, you can drastically reduce the motivation of potential thieves and at the same time significantly hinder their efforts.
A simple handlebar lock is often not enough to deter thieves. Instead, you should use an additional lock to secure your vehicle. There are various options to choose from, depending on your needs and preferences. By taking one or more of these security measures, you can significantly reduce the risk of theft and better protect your vehicle.
A brake disc lock that can be mounted quickly is a practical choice. You can get it with or without an alarm function to further deter potential thieves. Its design makes it compact and extremely portable, for example it fits easily in the storage compartment under the seat or in a backpack.
A U-lock, which is locked to the front wheel, offers a robust security solution. It consists of a robust locking cylinder and a sturdy steel shackle that is almost impossible to cut through, even with bolt cutters. Even when using a grinder, thieves first have to cut through both shackles, which takes a lot of time and makes a lot of noise.
The flexible Steel-O-Flex™ locks are another option. They offer high flexibility and double security while being lightweight. The steel cable is surrounded by overlapping hardened steel sleeves like a scale armour.
Lock and chain combinations allow you to connect a bike to the frame or secure the bike to a fixed object, making it more difficult for thieves to steal.

Lock-chain combinations
Securing to a fixed object
Wherever possible, you should secure your precious motorbike or moped to a fixed object - this could be a lamppost or a fence post, for example. This increases the security of your bike enormously, as it makes it more difficult for thieves to lift the vehicle and carry it away. This type of security works particularly well with a high-quality additional lock such as a solid lock and chain combination.
Our lock and chain combinations offer useful multi-protection and combine a robust chain with an alarm-protected brake disc lock, for example. You can also remove this and take it with you without the chain when you go on a tour.
U-locks - particularly robust and safe
U-locks are among the most resistant types of lock, but are still easy to use. So why not secure your motorbike with a U-lock? For smaller motorbikes or scooters, you can simply thread it through a wheel and connect it to a lamppost or fence. For larger machines, you can attach the U-lock to a wheel, where it acts like a parking claw and prevents it from being driven away, but not carried away. To increase the security of your motorbike, you can also combine the U-lock with an additional connection, such as a chain, and thus secure even larger motorbikes to fixed objects.
Brake disc locks with alarm
Security with alarm function
If you want to secure your motorbike or moped quickly and effectively, brake disc locks with an alarm function are an excellent choice. With their easy handling and reliable security function, they offer optimum protection. The integrated multidirectional motion sensor detects even the slightest vibration or movement on your vehicle and triggers a loud alarm. This means that no thief goes unnoticed and you can park your bike with an additional sense of security.
The GRANIT™ Detecto 8078 2.0 One brake disc lock, which is operated completely without a key, is particularly practical. Instead, you control it conveniently via an app on your smartphone or smartwatch. This keyless system means more security, as there is no cylinder that could be used as a point of attack by thieves.
