PROTECTS WEAK POINTS: WINDOWS, PATIO DOORS, GLASS FRONTS
Acoustic detector reports glass breakage
With the acoustic glass break detector, you can monitor larger window fronts. The detector responds to the specific sound of breaking glass. Glass breakage is detected and reported to the alarm center.
Functionality and reliable detection
The acoustic glass breakage detector reacts to the sound frequency generated by shattering glass (low and high frequency sound components). And it comes in two stages: 1. an abrupt increase in volume (sound pressure) during glass breakage; 2. a muffled sound (lower sound pressure) caused by the impact of the falling glass fragments. First glass breakage, then impact of the shards: only if both criteria are met will the detector trigger an alarm. This ensures that everyday noises (clinking of drinking glasses, ball against a window pane, etc.) do not trigger an alarm.
Optimal mounting location
For reliable detection, the detector should face the window area to be monitored. The area of the window pane can be between 30 x 30 cm and 3 x 3 m. The optimal position is at a distance of about 2-3 m from the glass front. The maximum distance is up to 8 m (depending on glass type and thickness). The effective detection range may be reduced, for example, with burglar-resistant glass and depending on the equipment/decoration on the window (curtains, flowers, interior shutters).
