Sights set on the Olympic rings

Lasse Lührs has been mixing up the triathlon scene since 2013: He made his debut in international competitions at the age of 17. Then in 2014, the first big success at the European Triathlon Championships in Kitzbühel, Austria: The Potsdam native, who lives in Alicante, Spain, won the sprint distance with the German team. In 2015 he became European junior triathlon champion in Geneva, and in 2018 he took the title of German champion over the sprint distance. The year 2020 was all about the five rings for Lasse Lührs: The triathlete had his sights firmly set on qualifying and participating in the Olympic Games in Tokyo - but had to postpone his ambitions for a year due to cancelled competitions caused by the pandemic.
