Did you know that comprehensive security options are available to protect your home from the basement right up to the roof? From basement windows to skylights, balcony doors to front doors – there are a whole host of solutions to choose from when it comes to making your home burglar-proof. In fact, no matter how many vulnerable areas there are in your home, we’re sure to have a suitable solution. You may not think your home has many weak points, but – if you think about it – every single entry point could potentially be your home’s Achilles’ heel.
The main targets for intruders include windows, balcony and terrace/patio doors (in the case of single-family homes), and even front doors (for apartment buildings). What’s more, people living in cities are more likely to be victims of a break-in during the day than in the evening or at night.
Don’t (just) rely on sliding a bolt across to prevent break-ins – invest in comprehensive mechanical basic protection.
There’s an intruder trying to break into your home. But lucky for you, you’ve just had a notification straight to your phone.
When it comes to insurance claims, it's very helpful to have video footage of an intrusion, but live images of your house can also be exceptionally reassuring when you’re out and about.

Navigate through the various security levels under “Complete protection” on the right-hand side. Clicking on “Mechanical protection”, for example, displays the various protection options for your home. If you are interested in security solutions involving alarms and video imagery, all it takes is a couple of clicks and they’ll be up on your screen in no time.
You can select the desired floor on the left-hand side.
The options available are ground floor, first floor and top floor. You will be shown solutions associated with mechanical protection, alarms or video imagery depending on which safety level you have selected.
You can, of course, choose the floor first and then select from the various security levels – the order doesn’t really matter in this respect.
You will find a “Print content” button at the bottom right of every page. This makes it easy to print out information on any products that interest you, and then show this to your specialist dealer for further advice.
Once you’ve found a security solution you’re interested in, print the individual options out and your specialist dealer will go through them with you in more detail. You can even arrange a meeting with one of our specialist dealers at your home, which may include a complementary security check. This is the best way of making sure that you select the most appropriate products for maximum protection of your home.

Don’t (just) rely on sliding a bolt across to prevent break-ins – invest in comprehensive mechanical protection. After all, if the opportunity is there, a thief will take it. All it takes is a standard screwdriver and an intruder can force open most vulnerable windows and doors in no time. Even doors with double locks often need just a couple of strong kicks to burst them open.
Mechanical protection comprises all mechanical security systems for safeguarding doors, windows and patio doors.
“Mechanical security systems should be the main priority when it comes to security planning. These really are essential when it comes to ensuring effective intrusion protection. After all, intruders are more likely to give up a break-in attempt when confronted with visible mechanical security technology.”

There’s an intruder trying to break into your home. But lucky for you, you’ve just had a notification straight to your phone.
Alarm systems are an excellent deterrent for potential intruders. These are triggered as early as the first break-in attempt and draw maximum attention to the building. Together with smoke detectors, gas and flood detectors, panic alarm buttons and emergency call buttons, these also serve to protect against other dangers we face in our everyday lives. What's more, they also significantly reduce the time an intruder has to break in. In the vast majority of cases, they cause the intruder to give up and thus prevent the likelihood of something much worse happening.
Rather than competing against each other, electronic and mechanical security technology actually work exceptionally well together. Alarm systems enhance the basic protection required by the police. As a full-service provider of security solutions, ABUS also offers electronic security systems.
“Mechanical security systems should be the main priority when it comes to security planning. These really are essential when it comes to ensuring effective intrusion protection. After all, intruders are more likely to give up a break-in attempt when confronted with visible mechanical security technology. Burglar alarm systems offer further protection still, as the attention they draw to a building significantly increases the chances of an intruder getting caught.”

When it comes to insurance, video footage of an intrusion is extremely useful to have – but live images of your home can also be exceptionally reassuring when you’re out and about.
Spot the danger, stop the danger. As soon as an intruder moves within the camera’s field of view, the image appears full-size on the monitor and recording begins. This allows countermeasures to be taken as early as possible, and any critical incidents can then be clarified afterwards.
Whether they’re tucked away discreetly in a corner, in plain view at an entrance or even underwater, ABUS cameras are the number-one choice whatever security solution you’re looking for.

It goes without saying that settling down in front of the fire with family, a good book or even the dog is the epitome of cosiness. Especially in the colder autumn and winter months, the crackle of a toasty fire is particularly enticing.
But even with regular checks, your fireplace – along with other heating systems such as gas-fired boilers, flow heaters and oil-fired boilers – can become a deadly hazard.
A CO detector fitted at chest height in bedrooms, living rooms or playrooms can offer reliable protection for you and your family by alerting you as soon as the carbon-monoxide level in the air starts to rise.

A mortise lock is the part that is actuated by the door cylinder. It’s invisible, but still functions like a key. Think of it this way: you can’t start a car without a starter motor, and you can’t lock a door without a mortise lock.
ABUS offers a wide range of mortise locks in accordance with DIN 18251, with solutions available for a whole host of different requirements, including fire doors and doors with narrow profiles.
Sitting at the top of the range is the TKZ40 – a self-locking mortise lock complete with anti-panic function. This allows you to open a locked door from the inside even without a key. As the locking element – or “latch” – can be rotated, this innovative mortise lock can be used in doors that close on the left or right in accordance with DIN standards, making it an extremely flexible solution.

The FOS550 Window Bar Lock is a maximum-security additional lock for windows and patio doors, complete with two robust securing points at the top and bottom. It can be used as a basic lock for windows and balcony/patio/terrace doors that open inwards, replacing the window handle.
Would you like to find out more? Visit www.abus.com!
The FTS96 Additional Window Lock is ideal for securing wooden window frames, although it is also suitable for use in aluminium or plastic variants. This lock secures the window at the handle side; the hinge side requires a separate form of protection. The additional lock is easy to secure using a rotary knob, and the key is only required to open it. The solid housing and double steel bar guarantee a high level of security in this additional window lock. The lock body is installed on the window sash, while the strike plate is mounted on the frame.
The FTS96E wireless window lock combines mechanical basic security with electronic monitoring via a wireless detector. With the wireless upgrade kit, it couldn’t be easier to integrate the FTS96E into the Secvest Wireless Alarm System. Together with the wireless display module, it also offers the perfect overview of all windows even without the alarm system.

Intruders like windows and balcony/patio/terrace doors. After all, these are the easiest routes into the house – regardless of whether the window is closed or ajar.
With additional window locks, these vulnerable areas can now benefit from an outstanding security solution. Virtually all additional window locks from ABUS come complete with the renowned VdS seal (VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH as part of the Gesamtverband der Deutschen Versicherungswirtschaft e.V), demonstrating that they live up to the highest requirements of mechanical safety products.

The FO400A features an integrated alarm that responds loudly as soon as a break-in attempt is detected. As a replacement for the existing window handle, the FO400A is suitable for use in windows and patio doors made of aluminium, wood or plastic when it comes to protection on the opening side. As an added bonus, it is just as easy to use as a conventional window handle. The adjustable bolt means the FO400A fits virtually any window type. And, with pressure resistance of around a tonne, the window handle is capable of withstanding attempts to gain entry.
Tip:
Maximise your hinge side protection with a hinge side lock.

When securing your home, all entry points should be taken into consideration – especially basement shafts. Intruders will try to gain entry anywhere, including the basement. Insecure grating is easy to remove and, before you know it, the intruder is in your home.
With the visible security and high deterrence of ABUS protective grating, such as the GS60, you can nip break-ins in the bud for any intruder looking to access your home from “below” via basement and light shafts. Large, robust retaining plates cover the grating and frame, held in place by a huge tension bar. There is even a version complete with chain especially for plastic shafts.
Protective grating is generally fitted in pairs. Thanks to the special lock, they can even be used where special escape route regulations apply.

The DFS95 Double-Sash Window Lock has a particularly high pressure resistance of over a tonne to protect against break-ins. What’s more, the convenient click mechanism means windows can even be locked without a key, and you can also see at a glance whether or not the window is locked from inside.

This is where ABUS reinforced lock bars come into their own, as they secure doors across their full width on both the lock and hinge side, offering optimum protection against violent break-in attempts.
But what’s the secret behind this exceptional stability? The standard ABUS “hollow catch bolt technology”. This makes it possible to achieve pressure resistance of over a tonne, just like the ABUS PR2700 Reinforced Lock Bars shown on the left of the image.

ABUS reinforced lock bars are a popular mechanical security device when it comes to securing doors across their entire width. The PR1400 Reinforced Bar offers exceptional protection for side doors – such as those for basements, garages or warehouses – as they can only be activated using two red push-buttons on the inside. What’s more, the door is secured on both the lock and hinge side for optimum resistance against violent break-in attempts. The bar is designed to be installed below the strike plate and at a convenient height to reach.

The telescopic bar combines a high level of deterrence with security against all kinds of intrusions via windows that open inwards. The precision steel pipe and solid wall fixing are capable of withstanding even heavy attacks. Both the lock cylinder, which is easy to secure by simply pushing it into place, and the easy-to-remove steel telescopic tube guarantee quick and easy operation.
The TELE-Z Telescopic Bar is secured to the wall reveal rather than the window itself, meaning there is no need to drill into the window and potentially cause damage.

In addition to the successful RM10 and RM15 Smoke Alarm Device series, ABUS also offers the RM40 – a compact, wireless smoke alarm device that can be networked with other detectors without the need for cables. This means that all installed smoke detectors sound an alarm as soon as one detector is triggered.
As a result, you’ll also hear an alarm on the top floor when the device detects a fire in the basement. The smoke detectors have a dual function as a transmitter and receiver, using wireless technology without the need for additional modules.
This means that the ABUS RM40 Smoke Alarm Device takes up no more room than a conventional smoke detector without wireless technology. The device is VdS certified and meets the highest technological demands stipulated by both the fire department and insurance companies.

It is just as important to protect doors on the hinge side as it is on the lock side. Secure hinge-side safeguards prevent break-ins through doors and are the ideal complement to additional door locks.
Tip:
The police and insurance companies recommend the use of hinge-side safeguards.

Any door without a professional level of security will instantly be an obvious target for potential intruders. This might involve having a wide-open cylinder and, in some cases, hardware that can be easily removed with a screwdriver. Details such as these make it a piece of cake for even less experienced intruders to enter your home in no time.
ABUS security fittings protect both the mortise lock and the door cylinder against being broken off and pulled out. Be sure to look out for DIN, TÜV and VdS seals, as these serve to indicate maximum-security solutions.
Recommendation: Use protective hardware with withdrawal protection, as this includes extra cylinder casing for a visible deterrent to intruders.
Tip:
As an absolute minimum, every door should have: Protective hardware with withdrawal protection, a security strike plate, a mortise lock and a door cylinder

In connection with a suitable mortise lock, a strike plate forms part of the basic security equipment for entrance doors to houses and apartments. Depending on the type of door, the right strike plate makes it significantly more difficult for these doors (and even interior doors) to be forced open.
Tip:
ABUS offers strike plates for various types of mortise lock.

If an alarm is triggered, the sounders generate a very loud signal tone with 105 dB of sound pressure. In addition to the acoustic warning, a visual alarm by way of a red LED is also triggered. The LED can be positioned above or below the sounder.
The sounder and Secvest communicate at a wireless frequency exclusively reserved for the security industry. A cover and seal contact protect the wireless outdoor sounder from tampering. In the event of tampering, the wireless outdoor sounder automatically triggers or forwards the tampering message to the Secvest alarm panel.

Thanks to their infrared technology, motion detectors recognise when someone is in the room.
The wireless motion detectors are extensions of the Secvest wireless alarm panel. They are passive infrared motion detectors that detect moving (body) heat in the room and report this to the respective wireless alarm panel. Thanks to their inconspicuous design, they can easily be integrated in the living environment.

The acoustic Secvest Wireless Glass Breakage Detector detects the specific sound of breaking window panes and reports the breakage to the Secvest Alarm Panel.
The detector only informs the alarm panel when it detects the initial glass breakage followed by the impact of the shards, causing it to trigger an alarm. The risk of false alarms is therefore minimised.

The Secvest Wireless Flood Detector is a technical detector for the Secvest Wireless Alarm System. It consists of a basic device (detector) and a water sensor connected by a cable. When the sensor comes into contact with water, the detector informs the alarm panel and an alarm is triggered.
The sensor of the wireless flood detector should be mounted very close to the floor, usually in places that flood first when water damage occurs (such as the tiles behind the washing machine or surfaces near water pipes). If water is detected, an alarm is triggered – even when the alarm system is not armed. Furthermore, you can define whether you are notified by text message or telephone when an alarm is triggered.
