Years of intensive material research and the desire for innovative security led ABUS to tungsten carbide. This extremely resistant material, known for its use on digger shovels, among other things, gives the GRANIT Super Extreme 2500 unrivalled hardness.

The lock shackle and body are coated with a tungsten carbide material mixture - thanks to this extremely resistant protective layer, even thieves with cordless angle grinders have a hard time.

Protection from the inside of the GRANIT Super Extreme 2500 is at least as high as from the outside. The built-in ABUS XPlus cylinder increases security against manipulation such as lock picking. As the cylinder discs have a complex structure, thieves cannot manipulate them with their tools to open the lock without a key. An additional plus for the security of the GRANIT Super Extreme 2500 is the double locking of the shackle in the lock body.

Like many other ABUS bike locks, the GRANIT Super Extreme 2500 U-lock bears the "Made in Germany" label. The U-lock is manufactured at our production site in the village called Rehe in the Westerwald; even the tools required for production are built there.

Experts recommend U-locks

The question of the most secure bike lock is not that difficult to answer. When it comes to the range of lock types, experts agree: U-locks are the first choice when it comes to high theft protection. The shape of the heavy steel shackles ensures that theft attempts on the open road are hardly successful: After all, thieves would have to use two shackle points to get past the lock.

Top models offer additional protection against professional lock picking. If you have invested a lot of money in your dream bike, you should not neglect the security and choose a bike lock with a high level of security.
